Melanie Clay, Ph.D.

Melanie N. Clay Ph.D., Associate Dean of eCore

Melanie is responsible for leading the support and marketing staff and evaluating the eCore program. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, a Specialist in Educational Leadership, a Master's in Public Administration from the State University of West Georgia, and a Bachelor's in Journalism from the Ohio State University. She lives in Carrollton with her husband Matthew, her teenage daughter, and their two young sons.

Christy Talley Christy Talley Smith, Director, eCore Curriculum and Instruction

Christy received her B.A. in French and International Economic Affairs at University of West Georgia in 1998. She also earned her T-4 Georgia Teaching Certificate in 1999 and graduated with her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in 2004. Christy is in charge of faculty support and also responsible in training faculty in the use of instructional technologies. Christy spends most of her free time involved in tennis leagues.

Stacey Rowland

Stacey Rowland, eCore Student Success Manager ( Stacey's Vitae )

Stacey Rowland serves as the eCore Student Success Manager for eCore Administrative Services, a USG collaborative program. She provides student support to eCore students across the University System of Georgia. Stacey holds a BBA in Technology Support Systems from University of West Georgia. She lives in Carrollton with her husband Rob and children Caleb, Cameron, and Clayton.

Craig Brown

Craig Brown J.D., eCore Marketing and Enrollment Manager

Craig holds a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University. He received his Bachelor's in English from Fort Valley State University. He serves as the eCore Marketing and Enrollment Manager. Craig also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.

Tanacha Brown

Tanacha Gaines, eCore Instructional Designer

Tanacha holds a Master of Science degree in Information Design and Communication and is working on her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology at Georgia State University. She has consulted with small to medium-sized organizations on visual communication, training methods, processes and information architecture.  Her interests are Distance and Higher Education. Tanacha has served as an adjunct instructor and is skilled in Higher Education processes and flexible in her training and instructional design style.

Reynard Van Tonder

Reynard Van Tonder, eCore Testing Coordinator

Reynard Van Tonder serves as the eCore Testing Coordinator for the University System of Georgia’s eCore program. He holds a BBA in Accounting from University of West Georgia. Reynard came to the United States as an international student from South Africa. He currently lives in Carrollton with his friend Neil, who hails from Switzerland.

Rachel Merritt

Rachel Merritt, eCore Advisor

Rachel Merritt serves as the eCore Registrar. She handles the registration processes for eCore students, as well as helping with grade and attendance submissions. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Jacksonville State University and is currently working towards her Master’s degree. Rachel lives in Ranburne, Alabama and enjoys spending time with her son Zach.

Austin Janowski

Austin Janowski, eCore Business Manager

Austin Janowski serves as the Business Manager for the eCore program. He holds a Bachelor's in Business Management from University of West Georgia. In the future, Austin plans to pursue his Master's of Business Administration at UWG. His eventual goal is to one day teach courses at the college level while continuing his work with online learning.  Austin currently resides in Carrollton where he spends most of his free time with his wife Brittany and son Jett.

Robin Stewart

Robin Stewart, eCore Graphic Designer

Robin Stewart serves as the Graphic Designer for the eCore Program.  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a Concentration in Graphic Design from the University of West Georgia.  Robin currently resides in Carrollton where she spends most of her time enjoying outside activities.
