eCampus courses administer proctored exams through several methods: live proctoring at USG testing centers, synchronous virtual proctors, and through recorded webcam videos using Respondus Monitor. Each proctoring session requires a brief identity check at the start of the exam (matching your face to your photo ID) and monitors the testing environment throughout the exam period.
Head coverings worn for religious reasons are permitted during proctored exams and will not, by themselves, be flagged as a violation or treated as suspicious behavior. You are not required to remove religious headwear to take an exam.
If your religious practice includes a face covering that conceals some or all of your face, Respondus Monitor's automated identity check may be unable to complete a facial match, and the recording itself may raise concerns related to modesty in religious practice. If this applies to you, please contact the instructor before your first proctored exam so an alternative identity verification method can be arranged.
How to request: Submit your request via GoView email to the instructor at least one week before the exam, noting which accommodation you are requesting. Requests will be handled confidentially and will not be shared beyond those directly involved in arranging the accommodation.
