Proctored Exams FAQs

Registration Questions

You will want to register for your exam as soon as possible. The longer you wait to register for your exam the fewer options you will have to choose from. In high demand testing periods, some testing centers will reach scheduling capacity--This is especially true during the final days of the testing window. To ensure you can select your desired testing location/date/time you will want to register early. We do not advise you to wait until the testing window starts to schedule your exams.

Please note that on the last day of the exam window, scheduling will end at 7:30 PM. We do not advise students to schedule their testing appointment that late into the testing window.

  1. Navigate to your GoVIEW course.
  2. Click Assessments from the course homepage.
  3. Click Proctored Exam.
  4. Review the Proctored Exam Overview Information page.
  5. If you are wanting to schedule an appointment for a testing center select "Register Now".
  6. If prompted, create your SmarterProctoring Profile. This will be used to identify testing options nearest you.
  7. Click the Choose a proctor button.
  8. Choose your proctoring mode and follow the prompts to complete the registration. These steps will vary based on the proctoring mode chosen.

  4. Review the Proctored Exam Overview Information page.
  5. Click Register Now.
  6. Click Choose a Proctor.
  7. Choose ProctorU – ProctorU is a live online proctoring service that allows you to take your exam from home or other private, quiet, enclosed locations. Perform a system test before scheduling: https://go.proctoru.com/testitout.
  8. If the system test is successful, click the Schedule button.

  5. Click Register Now.
  6. Click Choose a Proctor.
  7. Choose Live Proctoring by SmarterServices. Live Proctoring by SmarterServices is a live online proctoring service that allows you to take your exam from home or other private, quiet, enclosed location. Please check your compatibility using the SmarterServices System Check.
  8. If the system test is successful, click the Schedule button.

Some testing centers may offer appointments during the evening and/or on weekends, although availability will depend on the individual testing center. Please check your local testing center's availability in SmarterProctoring to see what is offered.

The online proctoring services, ProctorU and Live Proctoring by SmarterServices are also available for scheduling 24/7 during a testing window. Please note that on the last day of the exam window, scheduling will end at 7:30 PM.
